Welcome to the Art House Travel Blog for our Sketchbook project tour. As you may or may not know, Shane and I are driving those little sketchbooks all over the country to each city we are going. We are hoping to meet lots of the new people and see lots of awesome stuff! Of course we will be keeping you updated every step of the way!
This is my first entry of the tour. Its Saturday and we are leaving in two days. Tonight we meeting up at the gallery to start planning how we are going to fit this all into Shane's little car. It a two door Honda Civic. Not very practical we know! Last night we kicked everything off with the first stop, our gallery here in Atlanta, Ga. What an awesome time it was! We had a huge crowd at the gallery as well as a packed live feed online! I want to say, how awesome everyone's book is. We were BLOWN AWAY about the talent from every book we got! Everyone at the show was also blown away by all your talent. People stayed for hours flipping through all your books!
Monday we set off for Washington DC! Its about a 10 hour drive from Atlanta to Washington. We will arrive late Monday. The show is at the Museum of Contemporary Art DC. Its will be from 7-10 on Tuesday night. Please come visit us and say hi if you are in the area! We would love to meet as many of you as possible.

Art house Curates
Hello!
We are putting together 2 shows for over the summer that we will be jurying. We will be selecting up to 25 artists for each show. There is no restriction on what you can submit. Here is the info...
Curating The City: Works based around locations and places we live and work.
June 26th, 2009 at Art House Gallery (Atlanta, GA)
$35 to submit up to 5 images for the show.
Art House will select up to 25 artists to show during the exhibition.
Maximum dimensions are 18x24in (can be either portrait or landscape).
To submit, please send a check or money order made out to "Art House" along with a CD that contains up to 5 images in jpg format. Submission date is April 15th, 2009. Artists will be notified by May 1st. All work that is accepted must be delivered to us by June 1st in hanging condition. No phone calls please. Questions should be sent to gallery@arthousecoop.com

Art House Artist in Residence 2009
Art House Artist in Residence Program
Art House is selecting artists on an ongoing basis to be an artist in residence. Artists will live in Art House Gallery for one month and will have access to full print shop as well as gallery space. Artist will present work made during residences during the Castleberry Hill Art Walk in Atlanta, GA at the end of the residences. The artist will work with Art House Curator to create a show for the art walk.
Program Cost: $400
Included: Living space, 24 hour access to print shop/ studio (with etching press, letter press, and screen print equipment), Gallery space for art work and free entry into 4 Art House Projects. Featured artist space on Art House website for no less then 3 months.
To apply please email 10 images of your work in JPG format with each file being no bigger then 1mb each, a one page proposal on how you would utilize the space to create a viewer interactive piece, an artist resume, and a one paragraph BIO with contact info included. Please include phone number as well. Please specify which session you would prefer.
There is no charge to apply.
One application per artist.
Application Deadline: April 1st 2009
